Pre-heating

  1. To prepare a good hot cup of espresso, we recommend preheating the appliance before making coffee, including the funnel, filter, and cup, so that the coffee flavor is not affected by cold parts.
  2. Remove the detachable tank and open the cover to fill it with water. Do not exceed the “MAX” mark in the tank. Place the tank back into the appliance properly.
  3. Choose the two-cup filter and place it in the portafilter. Align the portafilter tube with the machine’s groove, insert it into the “Insert” position, and turn it anticlockwise until it locks firmly.
  4. Place an espresso cup on the removable shelf.
  5. Connect the appliance to the power supply. Ensure the steam control knob is in the OFF position.
  6. Press the power button once; the red indicator will illuminate. Set the coffee/steam selector. Press the pump control button. When water begins to flow, immediately stop the pump. This step is to pump water from the tank into the system.
  7. When the pump control switch lamp lights up, press the pump control switch again; hot water will flow out. When the lamp goes off, stop the pump. Preheating is complete.

Make espresso

  1. Remove the funnel by turning it clockwise. Add ground coffee into the 1-cup or 2-cup steel mesh using the measuring spoon. One spoon of ground coffee makes about one cup of espresso. Press the coffee powder firmly with the tamper.
  2. Place the steel mesh into the metal funnel, ensuring the funnel tube aligns with the groove in the appliance. Insert the funnel into the “Insert” position and turn it anticlockwise until it locks securely in place.
  3. Empty the hot water from the cup, then place the heated cup on the removable shelf.
  4. When the pump control switch lamp lights up, press the pump control switch briefly, and coffee will start flowing out. If the lamp is off, wait until it lights again before pressing the switch.
  5. Stop the process manually by pressing the power switch once the desired amount of coffee is obtained or when the coffee color becomes noticeably lighter. When all indicators turn off, the coffee maker has finished working, and your espresso is ready.

Warning: Do not leave the coffee maker unattended during brewing, as manual operation is required at certain steps.

  1. After brewing, remove the metal funnel by turning it clockwise. Empty the coffee grounds while keeping the steel mesh pressed with the press bar.
  2. Allow all parts to cool completely, then rinse them under running water.

Make cappuccino/frothed milk

You get a cup of cappuccino when you top up a cup of espresso with frothed milk. Method:

  1. Prepare espresso first with a container big enough according to the part “MAKE ESPRESSO COFFEE”, make sure that the steam control knob is at the “ ○ ” position.
  2. Press the coffee/steam selector. The pump light will turn on—wait until the selector indicator also lights up. Note: The selector indicator will turn on and off during use to maintain temperature.
  3. Fill a jug with about 100 ml of milk for each cappuccino to be prepared. You are recommended to use whole milk at refrigerator temperature (not hot!). Note: In choosing the size of jug, it is recommended that the diameter is not less than 70±5 mm, and bear in mind that the milk increases in volume by 2 times, so make sure the height of the jug is enough.
  4. Turn the steam control knob slowly anti-clockwise, steam will come out from the frothing device.
  5. Insert the frothing device into the milk about two centimetres, frothing the milk by moving the vessel up and down.
  6. When the required purpose is reached, you can turn the steam control knob to the “ ○ ” position. Note: Clean the steam outlet with a wet sponge immediately after steam stops generating, but take care not to get hurt.
  7. Pour the frothed milk into the prepared espresso. Now the cappuccino is ready. Sweeten to taste and, if desired, sprinkle the froth with a little cocoa powder.
  8. Press the Power switch to cut off the power source. All indicators will be extinguished. Note: We recommend you allow the maker to cool down for at least 5 minutes before making coffee again. Otherwise, burnt odor may occur in your espresso coffee.

Make steam

The steam wand can be used to make hot beverages like drinking chocolate, water, or tea. Method:

  1. Open the tTop cover, remove the detachable tank and fill it with the desired water. The water level should not exceed the “MAX” mark in the tank. Then place the tank into the appliance properly.
  2. Replace the tTop cover, then connect the appliance to the power supply.
  3. Press the Power switch, its lamp is illuminated.
  4. Remove the frothing device from the steam wand.
  5. Dip the steam wand into the liquid to be heated. Turn the steam control knob anti-clockwise slowly to start making steam.
  6. When the required temperature is reached, you can turn the steam control knob to the “ ○ ” position.
  7. Press the Power switch to cut off the power source.

Automatic power off function

If there is no operation within 25 minutes, the unit will power off automatically.

Cleaning and care

  1. Cut off the power source and let the coffee maker cool down completely before cleaning.
  2. Clean the housing of the coffee maker with a moisture-proof sponge often, and clean the water tank, drip tray, and removable shelf regularly, then dry them. Note: Do not clean with alcohol or solvent cleanser. Never immerse the housing in water for cleaning.
  3. Detach the metal funnel by turning it clockwise, remove coffee residue inside, then clean it with cleanser, but finally rinse with clear water.
  4. Clean all the attachments in water and dry thoroughly.

Cleaning mineral deposits

  1. To make sure your coffee maker operates efficiently, the internal piping is clean, and the peak flavor of coffee is ensured, you should clean away the mineral deposits every 2–3 months.
  2. Fill the tank with water and descaler to the MAX level (the scale of water and descaler is 4:1; details refer to the instructions of the descaler). Please use a household descaler. You can use citric acid (obtainable from chemists or drug stores) instead of the descaler (100 parts of water and 3 parts of citric acid).
  3. According to the program of pre-heating, put the metal funnel (no coffee powder in it) and jug in place. Brew water per “PRE-HEATING”.
  4. Press the Power switch once; its red lamp will be illuminated. Press the pump control switch, make sure the coffee/steam selector is on, when water flows out close the pump, and wait for a moment while the coffee maker begins to heat.
  5. When the lamp in the pump control switch is illuminated, heating is finished. Press the pump control switch and make two cups of coffee (about 2 oz). Then close the pump and wait for 5 s.
  6. Press the coffee/steam selector; the indicator in the pump control switch will be extinguished. Wait until the indicator in the coffee/steam selector is illuminated. Make steam for 2 min by turning the steam control knob, then turn the steam control knob to “ ○ ” position to stop making steam. Press the Power switch to stop the unit immediately, leaving the descaler in the unit for at least 15 minutes.
  7. Restart the unit and repeat steps 4–6 at least 3 times.
  8. Then press the coffee/steam selector; the lamp in the pump control switch will be illuminated. Press the pump control switch to brew until no descaler is left.
  9. Then brew (no coffee powder) with tap water to the MAX level, repeat steps 4–6 three times (it is unnecessary to wait 15 minutes in step 6), then brew until no water is left in the tank.
